The following promising practices transition sites serve students at the Junior High (7th through 9th grade) or Middle School (6th through 8th grade) level:

Students at risk of dropping out and students served in exceptional student education in need of more authentic learning experiences manage this school-based enterprise (SBE) in conjunction with students from gifted classes. The refreshment stand is located outside the main building next to the bus loop and serves students waiting (up to 45 minutes in some cases) to be picked up after school. A steering committee composed of a consultant (assistant principal), school bookkeeper, Chief Executive Officer (teacher), SBE President (student), and SBE Vice President (student) meet monthly to provide financial reports and discuss business successes and concerns.

The Pompano Substance Abuse Treatment Center is a moderate risk Department of Juvenile Justice residential treatment facility for boys ages 13-18. Students participating in the Culinary Arts program will learn meal planning, kitchen operation, table setting etiquette, food serving, portion control, cooking and baking, plate garnishing, and how to work together as a productive team. Program participants will also earn a Safe Serve Food Handling Certificate.
